We like to call Archipel the 2nd label to perfection. From the same team who crafts the cultworthy Verite La Joie, which earned 100 points from Parker in the 2007 vintage, this is that their everyday Bordeaux blend. Of course Verite sells for $450 so we are delighted to taste a bit of perfection for a fraction of the price. Celebrated winemaker Pierre Seillan personally selects and puts together this Bordeaux style blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec, just as he does for Verite. Of the Archipel, Steve Tanzer said "Wild, musky aromas of plum, smoked meat and nutty oak. Sweet, juicy and old school, with a leesy complexity and notes of coffee, meat and green pepper currently dominating underlying fruit. Finishes with dusty, slightly drying tannins. In a distinctly Old World style". You won't want to miss this every man's Verite at a 22% discount by the case, with free shipping on 3+!
