Registration is now open for the Fifth Annual Wild Goose Chase bicycle ride for women scheduled for October 14, 2012.  The ride explores quiet back roads through the Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge near the Chesapeake Bay on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. I participate in every ride and this year will be no exception. Blackwater is among the most idyllic places in the world to go bicycling. It combines absolutely flat terrain, incredible scenery and virtually no traffic amidst a natural landscape untouched by development.

Sponsored by Terry Precision Cycling and GORE BIKE WEAR™, the Wild Goose Chase supports The Friends of Blackwater, a nonprofit organization that provides volunteer services for the national refuge. The Wild Goose Chase has raised more than $115,000 from registration fees and contributions from cyclists since 2008 when the ride began.
The ride is fully supported with rest stops, food, and of course porta-potties. Four different length rides from 16 to 64 miles are offered. Bicycle repair service is also available as well as an opportunity to purchase Terry and GORE clothing at the ever-popular tent sale. Participants can also test-ride the Terry bicycle of their dreams at the ride start and finish in Cambridge, Maryland. Cyclists who want to arrive on Saturday, October 13, will find other activities including self-guided bicycle rides, kayaking and a pasta dinner arranged by event organizers.

You can find additional information at and you can register at  . The registration fee is $60 per person.

										See you in October!
